The Minimalists have a podcast that I find very helpful in continuing my journey in mindfulness. I find it very encouraging to listen to their podcast and hear their views on many topics. Many of the earlier podcasts are recorded live from their tours. They have moved to two formats for their podcasts. One is free and anyone can listen. These usually run around 30 minutes and are often based on conversations with guests. There is a longer format (with a video available), often running over an hour long, usually with a guest. In order to listen (or watch) these podcasts, you must sign up as a “Patreon” supporter and pay a monthly fee. I have chosen to do this because I find the discussions very interesting, often raising controversial issues with guests representing many different views.
Below are free episodes that I found especially thought-provoking. (In parentheses are the dates of the Patreon podcast for those who are Patreon supporters.)
Podcast #115 with Dan Harris, the author of 10% Happier and Meditation for Fidgety Skeptics. This podcast changed my life!! I’m not exagerating. (Patreon podcast on January 17, 2018 Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus host a private podcast session for their Patreon supporters with Dan Harris.)
Podcast #209 Uncivilized with Dr. Christopher Ryan, author of Civilized To Death. (The Patreon episode was posted on December 5, 2019 and is titled “The Price of Progress”.)
Podcast #231 Joshua talks about stoicism, what it means to live a good life, and different philosophies for living with author and professor William B. Irvine. (The Patreon podcast was posted on April 23, 2020.)
Podcast #242 Joshua and Ryan talk about dealing with toxic people, as well as defining, reassessing, repairing, and letting go of toxic relationships with podcaster and comedian Jamie Kilstein. (The Patreon podcast was posted on July 9, 2020.)
